I was reminded that I still have to update with part two of my courtroom drama. Which will still be done. I just need the time. And I don't have it now because I was called to go in 2.5 hours early again today. So the topic of this entry is how much I've worked just at my day job this week.
I was scheduled for 48 hours this week. If I do not get called in early tomorrow I will be up to 59.5+ hours. And here's how.
Sunday I was scheduled 2-10pm. The third shift worker never came in and the first shift worker came late. So I ended up working 2pm Sunday until 8am Monday morning. I didn't get home until 10am so the first shift worker covered my second shift because I didn't get home until so late there was no way I'd be able to go in. So that gave me 18 hours for that shift.
Tuesday I was scheduled 2-10pm. But Brad had to get called in because the third shift person that was supposed to work Sunday and Monday night apparently quit. And our first shift person's babysitter was too sick to watch her daughter so she come into work. So Brad had to work third and first shift. But he was too exhausted from his automotive job so he asked me if I could come in 2.5 hours early and if I could work two hours later to give him time to sleep before he came in for third shift. So I ended up working 11:30am until midnight. There's 12.5 hours.
Yesterday I worked my actual 2-10pm shift. The first shifter had to bring her daughter to work because of no babysitter.
Well she brought her daughter in today and our District Manager called to say he'd be at the store by 12:30pm. So the first shifter called to ask me to come in at 11:30am again so that she wasn't in the store with her daughter when our DM came. So as long as i leave on time..which I should and had better..I'll be there 11:30am until 10pm. Another 10.5 hours.
And as long as I'm not called in early tomorrow...I will have my 2-10pm shift.
And of course I have to work my night job from 11:30pm until 4:30am on Friday night.
Rough, rough week. And as God as my witness...this paycheck sure as hell had better be worth it.
My back hurts so badly. Halfway through my shift my legs will hurt badly. No customers had better get 'testy' with me...or I very well may go nuclear!
Well here's hoping that you're coping with whatever may be ailing you now. I will post again A.S.A.P. and the jury duty conclusion will be forthcoming. I just need the time to type it up.
Have a great day. Text me if you can. I'll need the 'companionship'. *hugs*
How old is that daughter? I thought it was illegal to bring your kids to work?? anyhow, I hope your paycheck is worth it too. Keep your chin up... the week is almost over~

at my last job my boss would have to bring in her 4 year old daughter every so often because of no baby sitter. it was incredibly annoying. do you think your job will ever have enough people to make sure no one is called in early or so that people can actually have days off?

When did you change your layout? I love the blue but the picture scares me a little. I hope your paycheck is worth it because I used to have to work for 12 hours a day for about 20 days a week and got only 600 bucks.
