I am going to fast forward to the drive home.
The groundhog seemed to be correct in predicting the arrival of Spring as the weather today/tonight reflected the oncoming Season. The music cranked up..(as loudly as my portal speakers will play the tunes coming from my Sansa MP3 player) and the cool breeze sliding in through the three quarter cranked down windows. The smells of spring bring back the recollections you can't quite put your finger on but it borders déjà vu and you know that these things had happened to you on a very similarly weathered day. On most of the days of the year the scents of nature either freeze and fall to be shattered upon the ground or it is too hot and the scents are incinerated before you can distinguish one from another. But the scents from the nighttime are invigorating. They recharge the soul. Remind you of all of the things that are always living around you but tend to forget until the wind reminds you by its smell. I and my car are cradled between the yellow lines and the white line to my right. It's like a lower speed rollercoaster ride but better because you can jerk the wheel any time and change the tracks if the current ride isn't intense enough. The choice is always there and that equals power to an extent. A night like tonight refuels something deep inside someone and makes them feel powerful. It is made all the more precious by the very fact that they are so rare here. In a land where the weather goes from one extreme to another with very few and short stops in between, you learn to take them as you can get them and try to lock the feeling away to bring out in very small doses until it comes about again.
My left shoulder has been hurting badly tonight. It has been hurting off and on for about a week and a half. It feels exceptionally tight and often feels like a bad cramp right between my neck and shoulder joint. It feels horribly swollen. For about a half hour it hurt so badly that I could barely draw a breath in. I am not aware of an injury that would cause this. And with my Lyme symptoms I always have muscle problems/pains. But this is pretty bad. *whimper*
I had an extra long night at work last night. Chad calls from the mall near our apartments to tell me that he woke up late and missed the bus that would get him to our store. The last one for the night of course. And when does he call? 10 minutes before his shift starts. Jackass. I couldn't leave Erica alone to go get him because she is new and still asks a good deal of questions and that would have lead to numerous problems I'd bet. So she clocked out and drove down here to get him. And then he wasn't where I told him to be according to the text message she sent me. But after I took care of another couple customers I tried calling her back and Chad answered so atleast I knew that she had him. By the time that he shows up and we switch shifts I'd been there an extra hour and a half.
Now I can use the overtime because Jenn (
invisibleinkling ) will be in Dallas for two weeks and this will help me make sure that I have gas and food money. But hopefully I won't hear anything about it. And I wanted to kill him. Luckily he showed up on time tonight. And tomorrow night I get off at 8pm so I don't have to rely on it. No. Wait. If he doesn't make it for some reason, it will be up to me to get him to work. So he'd better show up when he should then as well!
I guess that's it for now. I found my Mineral Ice and put it on my shoulder and took something for the pain. I was hoping that at the end of typing this entry up I would feel the relief and be able to sleep. We'll see how that goes.
But I hope that you have a great night and I'll return very soon. Promise.
I've always prefered the nighttime to the day time. Not really sure why. Maybe cuz its usually cooler, darker and more quiet. I dunno. ha, gotta love it when your relief calls at the last minute and says they don't have a ride. I hate that.
I hope your shoulder feels better soon.

Awwww :-( Are you having sympathy pains for me? Or maybe it's vice versa!
I'm with lost.. I love nighttime better too.. I think senses are heightened by the dark when you can't quite make out what's there :-)

I love nighttime too if it's cold. Hope your shoulder ache will go away. I hope Chad won't do that again anytime soon or you might just have to beat him up XD
I think if you don't have much to do at home or if you don't feel that tired, doing overtime would be okay.. since you'll be getting extra money.

Ahh, have you tried consulting the doctor about your shoulder pains? :(. That must really suck!!
And strangely I like night better too. It's really nice if you get the chance to be in a area with no light pollution and look up at the stars.
